Turns out Detective Pikachu is inclined toward some wild guesses as he tries to find a missing dad in the new Pokemon movie opening in May.
Warner Bros. released the second trailer for Detective Pikachu on Tuesday. It showcases Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) trying to figure out what happened to new partner Tim Goodman’s father, Harry. Justice Smith plays his partner.
“Alright, here it is. Harry faked his own death. Or somebody else faked Harry’s death. Or Harry faked somebody else’s death,” he says.
“That last one doesn’t work at all.”
We also catch glimpses of some classic Pokemon in CGI form, including a sleepy Snorlax, a Machamp directing traffic, Flareon and a surprise appearance from Mewtwo — the villain of the first animated pokemon movie .
Pikachu also showcases his fighting ability, or lack thereof, in an encounter with a massive Charizard.
On Monday, Reynolds shared some of the techniques/terrible parenting he used to get into character for the movie, with a cameo from wife Blake Lively and a quote from an acting icon.
